Morant stated, “I was a bit surprised by Embiid’s comeback. I looked at some stats yesterday. The 76ers had a record of 14 wins and 27 losses without Embiid, which means their chances of winning the championship were slim. To me, their moves at the trade deadline seemed to imply that this season wasn’t working out and they were looking towards the next season. So, Embiid’s comeback surprised me. It just goes to show that Embiid really wants to play basketball.”
Embiid recently made a comeback, scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals in his first game, shooting 6 for 14 from the field, 0 for 3 from three-point range, and 12 for 12 from the free-throw line.
